i3 originated as a plan to disciple young adults in the local church by inviting, investing and involving them in the gospel. Many of the concepts are drawn from Robert Coleman’s classic work, The Master’s Plan of Evangelism. In this workshop you will be given principles that work for evangelism, discipleship, and leadership development.

Engaging in an annual process of Ministry Action Planning strengthens alignment between the pastoral team and church board, fostering unity and purpose. Research on congregational vitality highlights the importance of evangelistic Ministry Action Planning as a key strategy for translating vision into measurable action, helping churches effectively bring people to Jesus.

Montrose (Nazarene) Church is a local congregation in the backyard of Hollywood, California, who also shares a neighborhood with NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratories (JPL) and Caltech. At the same time, the main street of Montrose and surrounding community is often compared to the fictional “Mayberry” of Andy Griffith fame. How does the church evangelize in a community full of industry professionals, rocket scientists, progressive philosophies, and conservative ideologies? In this session, we will explore the attitudes, philosophies, and guiding principles that have helped Montrose Church serve this diverse community for almost 100 years.
